Welcome back, fellow couch potatoes! We’ve got a new list to break down that is loaded with a bunch of newcomers and a few shocking risers. Let’s check out what you’ve been watching in this week’s Top 20 Streaming Films.

In a shocking turn of events, audiences have suddenly turned to Vin Diesel for comfort during this stage of the coronavirus lockdown; and launched his critically lambasted Bloodshot all the way from No. 13 to No. 1. The action pic derailed back-to-back champ Bad Boys for Life, which dropped back to No. 2 for the week.

Now, I personally thought Bloodshot sucked. To each their own, I suppose. Though, I must say, the shame I feel for humanity right now is incomprehensible.

On a happier note, Clark Duke’s directorial debut Arkansas, starring Duke, Liam Hemsworth, Vince Vaughn and John Malkovich, reached No. 12 in its list debut. I enjoyed the hell out of Duke’s offbeat thriller about low-level drug pushers with a panache for witty existential banter — for what it’s worth, you can check out my review here. Professional critics were less impressed and cumulatively amassed just 46% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, which either means I suck as a critic or carry a soft spot for dark comedy-dramas with Vince Vaughn. Both are probably true.

Going the opposite way, WB Animation’s Justice League Dark: Apokolips War landed at No. 15 after scoring 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. I gave the film a mostly positive review, though I find it odd that the same critics who lambasted Zack Snyder for his just-as-grim-and-violent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are gushing over this latest animated entry, which features Batgirl getting ripped apart in gruesome fashion. Pick a side, people!
