SparkShorts is Pixar’s newest collection of artists’ project from new incredible storytellers. The series first introduced six shorts films titled Float, Purl, Kitbull, Smash and Grab, Wind, and Loop which were all praised for their mature themes.
“The SparkShorts program is designed to discover new storytellers, explore new storytelling techniques, and experiment with new production workflows.” President of Pixar Animation Studios Jim Morris said. “These films are unlike anything we’ve ever done at Pixar, providing an opportunity to unlock the potential of individual artists and their inventive filmmaking approaches on a smaller scale than our normal fare.”
Disney‘s streaming service is the exclusive home in the U.S. for subscription-video-on-demand viewing of the newest live-action and animated series and movies from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and Fox. The service is ad-free, supported solely by subscription fees, and will be available on gaming consoles, smart TVs, and connected streaming devices. It has already gained 50 million subscribers after five months since its launched in November 2019.
