KWESTA AND THABSIE’S ‘NGIYAZ’FELA NGAWE’

Ngiyaz’fela Ngawe is a single off Kwesta’s platinum-selling album, DaKar II. Kwesta collaborated with Thabsie on this heartwarming single and it instantly won Mzansi over.

The single explores the ups and downs of a romantic relationship. Kwesta shares beautiful moments with his wife, Yolanda Vilakazi and their oldest daughter.

The Ngiyaz’fela Ngawe music video has achieved a whopping ten million views on YouTube. The news was announced by Sound African Recordings, which is a division of Sony Music Africa.

The record label congratulated Kwesta on his achievement. Kwesta simply responded, “Siyabonga”.

‘DAKAR II’

Earlier this year, Kwesta celebrated five years of his album DaKAR II. The album features some of Kwesta’s biggest hits including Ngud’ featuring Cassper Nyovest, and Mayibabo featuring DJ Maphorisa and DJ Bucks.

The album itself has been certified 13x platinum while Ngiyaz’fela Ngawe has been certified 119x platinum.

Other features on the 22-track album include AKA, Busiswa and songstress Bucie.

KWESTA’S NEW ALBUM

The 33-year-old rapper released his album g.o.d Guluva on 30 April this year. The 15-track album features the likes of Yanga Chief, Focalistic, Kid X and successful producer Makwa.

He told OkayAfrica that with this album release, he has embraced where he’d like to be.

“I really wanted to take in a lot, and really let things happen to me instead of going, ‘yeah, I’m going to crush every door.’ And that’s how I feel personally.”

The rapper doesn’t only deliver rap music on the project but also taps into amapiano. His singles Kubo, Ma Se Kind and Hamba have an amapiano feel to them.

Kubo is his latest single from the album.
