A Mari Indian Chaitini – A drink to make Bond sweat

Martinis come in many shapes and forms. They can be on the basic side with gin or vodka with no extra flair or morph into coffee martinis, lemon martinis, etc. But, what if James Bond decided he wanted something spicy? Show the master spy something special with a spicy A Mari Indian Chaitini.

If your’re hosting a cocktail evening, you can make most of this delicious drink in advance. The simple syrup is easily made by combining 500ml of water and 500g sugar into a pot and bringing to a simmer until the sugar dissolves. This recipe lasts for about 30 days in the fridge and is used in a vast variety of cocktails. Cold chai gives this A Mari Indian Chaitini a spicy kick and adding a chili won’t make it too hot, but adds some extra lair. It’s also perfect for those Instagram posts.

  • 60 ml A Mari Indian Ocean Gin

  • 15 ml Simple syrup

  • 15 ml Cold chai

  • Fresh chili to garnish


  • In a cocktail shaker, combine ice, simple syrup, A Mari Indian Ocean Gin and chai. Stir to cool ingredients.
  • Strain into a martini glass.
  • Add fresh chili to garnish.
